Sounds just like my SIL...who is 37, single and truthfully...very pretty...but totally self conscious about being single so constantly has to talk about how wonderful and exciting her social life is and how many guys are constantly chasing after her. When I can get beyond the annoying factor, I feel badly for her...which I'm sure is exactly what she doesn't want.

This scarily describes my sil perfectly except the age. Wow. At my engagement party (hosted by her mother) she rolled her eyes and tried to change the topic each time someone asked me about the proposal, wedding plans or the ring. But when she wants to talk about the latest guy chasing her everyone is expected to drop what they are doing and listen. I actually feel really badly for her she's so insecure.

no op, but pp here and my dh finds it annoying very often. he has commented to me about her tendencies to need to be the center of attention and to not let anyone else get a word in.
