Did anyone get FALSE faint positive on CVS Early pregnancy test?

Anonymous
Yes. It is a FRER. Test tonight. Save your urine and test before bed. Use a cup to collect so you don't need a lot of urine.

Well, did you test this morning? Hoping for a positive for you!

There is absolutely no way to know if you truly had a "false positive" or if you just had an early chemical.

OP here. I did not test again. I have a family function tomorrow and thought I 'd try to enjoy in the belief that I am pregnant -- based on what I saw on the CVS test yesterday morning. If that indeed was a false negative, I would completely feel out of place tomorrow. Have to be around 10 kids including 3-4 babies.
It's so sad that infertility has to govern our lives so much.
I'll test after the family function.

OP again. Right, I wouldn't know what it was. But I am avoiding to test right now because I am scared of "what if" I see negative today. I am freaking out actually. Do you guys think I should test today? INDECISIVE!

OP I have been in your shoes. I know exactly what you are feeling. My hands would shake, my heart would pound out of my chest, and my mouth would get dry at the mere thought of taking the HPTs. Terrible, awful moments.

Here's the thing...once I took the test, I could process the result and it would be over and I could get out of the suspended state of semi-controlled panic/anxiety.

If your event is tomorrow, take the test now. If it's positive, great. You enjoy your event tomorrow. If it's negative, you wallow all day today and tonight and you get up tomorrow and make the best of the event tomorrow.

Good luck. Let us know. I am rooting for you!!!!!!

Thank you so much! I'll take the test and update this.
I have failed 6 IVFs and 6 IUIs. Technically, I should be immune to this by now. Will take the plunge!

One other piece of advice if you end up buying more HPTs ever...get the digital ones that say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". They are expensive but for me they helped my anxiety. No second guessing the line, wondering if you're seeing something or not.

I would usually wait until the day before the beta and take one of those. That way I knew it was late enough that I should be getting an accurate result (wasn't too early) and I would remove the element of guesswork.

The FRERs work early - the others not so much including the Pregnant one. Good luck. I would test if I were you. How many DPO are you?

OP, I am rooting for you. Good luck!

Thinking of you, OP. Hugs either way .

OP here. FRER showed a faint line. 8dp5dt if counting correctly. Transfer was done Thursday. Feeling serene but time will tell eventually. Scared of chemicals and miscarriages.
Thank you everyone who responded and wished well for me!

Yea!!! Enjoy it!! I totally understand where you're coming from, I had a long "fertility journey" myself, but ended up finding success in the end. Take one day at a time and enjoy!!

Congratulations OP! I hope it all continues to go well.

I had this happen with one of the big brands, too, as well as a false negative. I think it's less the brand than the fact that the drugstore tests just aren't as reliable, especially really early on. It may also have detected a chemical pregnancy that just didn't take. Good luck, OP.
