yep, and they are now 'taking a break' as of this week. |
| MMM has said how much he makes on his blog. I think he posted it shortly after his WaPo debut, and it was $50K. So, it's probably at least double now. He must keep a lot of it in the business, but he's definitely not retired. |

99.9% of bloggers make nothing.
I have a small blog that I quit updating about a year ago and just got a check from AdWords for $100. Ha! Blogs like Dooce with tons of page views make a lot - I think I read 1M a year? |
|
I'm a blogger with a site that gets around 60,000 page views a month. I'm too lazy to MONETIZE, so between a couple of ad networks where I don't have to do anything I make about $6k a year.

Many of the successful fashion and lifestyle bloggers make a TON of money. Some of the most successful are rumored to make more than a million a year.
Every item they feature in their blog is linked to a shopping site (Nordstrom, Jcrew, Neimans, whatever) through "RewardStyle". If a blog reader clicks the link and purchases the item through that link the blog owner makes $. You can tell because if you click an item featured on the blog the link flashes through "rstyle.me" (i.e. rewardstyle) first before going to the store's website. Then they get tons of additional merchandise for free to review on their blogs and are also outright paid to write about merchandise. |
Good for you! But how do you make money off of this? |
I take bribes not to reveal how many times a month you have sex. No, honestly, through advertising. |
So advertisers pay you to have their ad on this site? Do people have to click on the ads? I can't imagine many people do. |
So how much? Or a ballpark figure? |
It is entirely done through Google's advertising service. |
Given the volume, and average cpm of $2, it's probably between $200 and $250k. |
I do a lot....on accident. |

These bloggers break out what the earn here:

They actually state that they don't get paid for giveaways. But they do consulting work on the side that they don't talk about, plus 2 books, and tons of advertising. |

So, Jeff, would it help you personally if we clicked on the ads? I'm willing to do that.
