Lack of pedicure dilemma

Open toe shoes = unprofessional.

Polished toes = polished professional. As I've gotten older I do my nails once a week (myself mostly). I feel unkempt otherwise.

Oy vey with the responses. Clean and trimmed is probably fine. Open toed shoes when it's hot like this is fine.

Advice that references Marilyn Monroe and a plumber is comical.

+1. Just make sure your toe nails/feet look nice, ie not overgrown or gnarly, and you're fine. I mean, buy the cheap nail polish if you want but I promise it's not a huge deal.

Remember the line in the movie "The Seven Year Itch" where Marilyn Monroe said she got her toe/foot stuck in the bathtub faucet and had to call the plumber? She was so embarrassed because her toenails weren't polished!!

Faux pas.

Seriously OP, if you equate having polished toes with looking professional, you've got to tell us what you do for a living. Please......!!!!

I work in finance. Yes, I do think it looks unprofessional to wear open toed shoes without polish.

Eh, you two also probably think no pantyhose is unprofessional.

I am ok with bare legs in the summer. But bare legs between October and April look a little ridiculous.

Geez OP....Get a grip. Lost the attitude or at least get an adjustment.

Don't ask us a question if you don't want to get a variety of answers in return.

We're getting closer to be taken seriously, but thinking that we won't be considered professionals because our toenails aren't pink really doesn't help further the cause.

Seriously. What business are you in that people are checking out your toes?

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that caring whether my toenails are painted means I am not worthy of being a man's equal. Look, I personally think that having unpolished toenails doesn't look good with open toed shoes. To me, it looks sloppy. That doesn't mean that I am not a professional or should not be taken seriously.
