+1. Looks like a mess. And a recipe for mildew/mold. yuck.

OP here. Thanks for the responses thus far. We do have a large tub in the MBA. But it sounds like for resale reasons, everyone thinks another tub upstairs is important.

That thing in the shower is horrific. What the hell do you do with it after the bath?

Pierce a hole through the bottom.

That thing is brilliant brilliant brilliant. (I have a tub, but if I did not I would be doing this for sure!). Well done.

There is a hole punching tool/hardware, and you punch it on top of the hole in the actual shower.
It's used more commonly in Europe where shower only apt are common.
Not saying it's better than having a tub, but it's the next best thing

That tub is gross.

Better to have a real tub.

A real tub. Even without children (yet), I still want two bathrooms with tubs.

exactly!

I 100% agree. We were redoing our house now and are doing a large shower in the master. The kids bath will still have a tub shower. When when they outgrow it, I think it is important to have a tub in the house.

This. And even if you have a tub in the master, it might be hard to access. Ours is a corner tub and it would be really hard to bathe a baby in.

Tub. No question.
