there's inter-species fucking all the time in star trek - i think when you start fucking other species, deviance takes a whole new definition.

Funny you should mention that, the episode that sparked this post was when Q wanted to mate with Janeway. Guess with her hair style he figured she was a Mormon from Utah and would be all about a little alien lovin'

Voyager sucked except for the Doctor.

ok that was funnier than it had ANY right to be.

Nobody will get too freaky on the holo deck because of course it would get back to the captain. Just like in the military, officers do not have an absolute right to privacy.

And where are all you stealth Trekkers anyway? We should have our own forum.

That is my favorite TNG gif of all time. TOS rules. TNG close 2nd. That is all.

I don't think they ever said there was no need for money. The Ferengi certainly worship it...and what about Quatloos in TOS. You wouldn't need money on a starship--but you could have some to play poker.

am i the only trekkie that never got into TOS.

TNG and DS9 were way more fun and interesting to day dream about. TOS was just boring. hell even some voy episodes were more enjoyable for me.

Fun fact - I once ran into Jadzia Dax at a grocery store in central PA.

I think there are lots of trekkers who seem 'normal' on the outside but never bring up their trek love so we just pass each other on the streets without ever knowning.

It is unfortunate.

And it doesn't just fizzle or turn itself off. It whisks you off to another time period where you are endangered; it changes your life in some fundamental way. Folks, can you say "PRODUCT LIABILITY"?

Yep, tonight's episode a space nebula has taken over the holodeck. She/it has fallen in love with the vulcan and will keep him or lcan or destroy the ship.

1. ST folks are totally down with the kinky sex. Think about all the shore leave to Risa, the "pleasure planet."

2. For every Riker or Kirk gettin' it on with real ladies, there have gotta be like 100 Barclays in Starfleet who have to use the holodeck because they're too Aspie for real women.

3. Someone mentioned the snowball in Encounter at Farpoint -- dude, that was totally okay because the holodeck uses a mixture of holographs AND actual matter (generated in the same way as the replicators do it) plus I think I recall it uses some transporter technology so you never hit the walls.

4. After you use the holodeck, it transports away anything "messy." So no worries about deposits of a gentlemanly nature.

Yes, I'm a huge nerd and yes, this thread has made me totally happy.

I may just get kicked out of my own thread for this, I like Star Trek Enterprise series. Worst theme song ever for any TV show. but loved they used grappling hooks and didn't trust the transporter.

Yes, I am one. I know waaaaay too much about TOS, TNG, and DS9; a reasonable amount about Voyager up to the fourth season when I couldn't take Janeway anymore and stopped watching. Never got into Enterprise though. Is it worth it? Dare I risk a new obsession?

My colleagues laugh at me for never having watched much TV or listened to popular culture when I was growing up ... which is true ... but little do they know I know a scary amount about Star Trek, like trivia freak quantity.
