Yes, after Zionist terrorist groups spent years launching attacks. But, now we are getting off topic. I think the OP made an errrr by thinking that the alternative to a thread about a country was a thread about groups associated with a specific religion. Terrorism has no religion.The reasons why someone picks up a gun or blows themselves up are ineluctably personal, born variously of grievance and frustration; religious piety or the desire for systemic socio-economic change; irredentist conviction or commitment to revolution. The terrorist virtually always sees himself as a reluctant warrior: cast perpetually on the defensive and forced to take up arms to protect himself and his community. They see themselves as driven by desperation——and lacking any viable alternative—to violence against a repressive state, a predatory rival ethnic or nationalist group, or an unresponsive international order. -

Religion only serves as one more justification, particularly in the case of suicide terrorism. Theological arguments are invoked both by the organizations responsible for the attacks and by the communities from which the terrorists are recruited. In the case of Muslims, although the Quran forbids both suicide and the infliction of wanton violence, pronouncements have also been made by radical Muslim clerics, and in some instances have been promulgated as fatwas (Islamic religious edicts), affirming the legitimacy of violence in defense of defenseless peoples and to resist the invasion of Muslim lands.

These same issues exist within their own countries as well-Iraq, Iran, Egypt, North Africa etc. Israel is not the cause for all of these problems, though many blame Israel, These issues were in existence long before Israel came into existence.

You have to understand the history of those regions to understand how someone can be radicalized.Muslims have been dying violently in staggering numbers over the past three decades in conflicts around the world, many of them instigated by non-Muslim nations. Sources indicate that more than 4 million Muslims have died in conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Chechnya and elsewhere since 1980". The Soviet invasion and occupation of Afghanistan killed as many as 2.1 million Afghans, including 13.5 percent of the male population, according to U.N. estimates. The U.S.-led wars against Saddam Hussein took a brutal toll on the Iraqi population. Russia killed tens of thousands in Chechnya. Serbian and Croatian forces killed or starved to death hundreds of thousands in Bosnia and Kosovo. Indian forces have killed Muslims in Kashmir. So if you closely examine so-called ‘Islamic extremism’, you will see political forces working behind an Islamic facade. More often than not, the real manipulators and exploiters are not even Muslims themselves. Radical/Terrorist organizations use these images, deaths to recruit young people and convince them that they must fight to save the "Muslim world from the West" . We believe that the "Muslim ummah is an unique ummah among the whole of mankind: Their Land is One, their War is One, their Peace is One, their Honor is One and their Trust is One." This is used by recruiters to their advantage to radicalize people to fight for all muslims around the world and save them from the west.

First, most of the terrorists in the world are not Muslim. Most of the terrorist incidents that happen in the US are not executed by Muslims. And it has been shown that most of the actions that Muslims are accused of doing as terrorists are usually politically motivated, resistance fighters, etc. This continuing narrative to demonize a faith by claiming that it is responsible for world terrorism is probably one of the most notable examples of successful mass-propaganda.

I am struggling to think of any other religious group that promotes suicide bombers. September 11, the African embassies, the Cole, the marine barracks in Lebanon, suicide bombing of US embassy in Lebanon in '83. Those are just a few of the hundreds or thousands of suicide or attempted suicide bombings carried out by extremist Muslims.

Tamil Tigers used suicide bombers all the time. A female bomber killed Rajiv Gandhi.

Muslima, your quoted source may be just a tad unreliable. I notice that same source also states that "evidence is now conclusive: two Ukrainian fighter jets did shoot down the Malaysian airliner.". Not sure how reliable the site you cite may be.

Um, two Ukrainian jets shot down over rebel territory as reported in the Washington Post is a lot different from reporting that two Ukrainian jets shot down the Malaysian airliner.

People who orchestrate terrorism are trying to achieve political and power goals. Some use religion as a recruitment tool or motivator. Because it's very simple to get people to do things for God. Catholics did it in Northern Ireland. Buddhists are killing Muslims. Hindus and Muslims fight and kill one another on a regular basis. But it comes down to, at its fundamental base, a power grab.

This shows mainly Muslim on Muslim attacks in Muslim countries in 2012. The articles that I cited referred to Terrorism in the US & in Europe from 1980s to the 2000s. Sadly Muslims around the world are most often than not the victims of these attacks perpetrated by radicals and almost most are politically motivated.
