Camp Ramah for this area

Anonymous
Pp- just looked at the Sprout Lake website and it looks wonderful. What made you choose it over Ramah and other camps (are you from the DC area?). We would like a camp with strong Jewish values however we are not observant at home and I worry that Ramah will be too much for DS.

I heard about it through friends, and then went to an in-home info session where they gave me a promo CD. I was really not looking for a Jewish camp and was sure that DC would pick CTY for summer... yet another warning never to take my kids for granted! It is also less expensive than Airy/Louise.
We are in the same boat with regard to observancy, so the tone of the camp was right for us. We also appreciated the strong Zionist focus of the camp and the parent organization.

If this will be your child's first stay at a Jewish camp, be sure to sign up for the Happy Camper discount.
