Yes you can. Military families do this all the time. One parent goes ahead with the kids so they can start the year with their classmates. The other parent follows behind. You either overlap leases for a couple of weeks, or stay in an extended stay hotel like Staybridge Suites. At the end of the year. The spouse who has to move goes ahead and stays in a hotel, while the other one stays put so the kids can finish the year. Don't make your kids start school like this when it is completely avoidable. It sucks enough to move when you are an older kid. Make it easier for them by inconveniencing yourself a little bit. |

I agree with the plan to split the parents so the kids can have the smoothest transition possible. It is very hard for kids past about age 7.
If you're kids are like mine (and me when I was younger), missing a whole bunch of days of school is just fine. There are more interesting things to do. |
