what could this ear popping and fullness be?

My guess is allergy/sinus issues. I would start with the ENT before the dentist.

Thanks! I think Eustacian tube problems due to allergies is the likely cause and I see that this can also cause a weird ear clicking sound (not TMJ) so I will continue with her Doctor's treatment for now -- but am changing the angle of nasal spray as per the link I posted, also adding some nose blowing every hour. She did this all day today and already is feeling some relief which is a relief to Mom as well!

FYI, when I recently had swimmer's ear I didn't have pain, just an itchy ear. It looked irritated.

Well, whatever it was, it is cured! Seemed to get better once I changed the position of the cortisone spray so it was headed towards the Eustacian tube, not her sinuses. Thank you Dr. Google!
