Indoor plumbing, electricity, the internet |
I would say - antibiotics, pain killers and diapers! Also - air travel, paved roads. |
Refrigerator
Microwave |
Don't know but I love: air conditioning, internet, TiVo, tampons, antibiotics, vaccines, birth control, closed sewers, eye glasses, and electric lights. |
Car...or the wheel in general |

Flushable wipes |
I've decided my least favorite inventions are the internet and smartphones, because while they can be addictively fun and have their uses, they have blurred too many lines between personal/private and work/not-work. I would go back to a word processor and a phone that plugs into the wall anyday if it meant I never had to read another annoying FB post or address why I didn't answer your work email at 2pm on Sunday. |
Washing machine. |
Those haven't been invented yet. They have "flushable" wipes. |
Airplanes. Imagine how hard it would be to see the world without planes? |
eye glasses, tampons, birth control |
Definitely the toilet. One thing that knocks India down from my top travel destination is the prospect of all of shit and inadequate plumping. |
Read that the lack of plumbing is one of the factors that contributed to the two cousins who were raped in India. Women are modest and go to use the bathroom in the fields outside their villages at night. This creates the perfect opportunity for rapists to commit their crimes. |
