I'm the poster who increased savings by $330K in 10 years. Saved about 12% of my salary (averaging about 7% contribution, plus the 5% match), and a lot of help from the markets and compound interest. I think you are both doing very well. If you work for another 17 years you'll also get a very decent pension plus SS so your TSP balance should hopefully be a very stable leg of your three legged stool. My goal is to have the TSP annuity (figure 4% of the TSP balance paid out each year) cover around 33% of my working income. Right now - not quite making it but you two should be getting close.
