Is the Williams Sonoma BabyCook worth it?

Anonymous
I used my stick blender, which I find very easy to clean. In fact, I didn't really use it before my daughter ate solids, but even now that she's on table foods, I still use it to make smoothies, veggie sauces, etc. It seems like the BabyCook would be a nice gift, but I thought the process was simple enough to do without it. Another option for small meals is a baby food mill, which works just fine and can't be more than $30.

What is a baby food mill?

I second using a stick blender. Very fast and easy to clean. DS is 2 now, so I don't make baby food anymore. But I have a Magic Bullet for myself now (which I use every morning) and I bet that would be great for making baby food in too.

Also, does anyone use a stick/immersion blender instead? would that work?

I haven't tried a babycook (hadn't even heard of it until this thread), but I've used an immersion blender a lot to make my son's food. It's super easy after steaming and it's a breeze to clean (just stick it in some warm soapy water and turn it on!).

I do the same thing, very easy and you can make small or big batches. I just steam things in a pot on the stove with a steamer insert. I don't think it wouls be worth it for just a few months of making pureesmnut I have not used one
