+ 1 for down alternative. Super soft, light, warm and washable.

Down or Primaloft from The Company Store!

I think pacific down is supposed to be humane. I wouldn't buy any old brand because there really are naked tortured geese walking around and it pisses me off to no end.

Agree with this. Plus the down alternative ones are more hygenic because you can wash them. And they are cheaper.

We have a down alternative and love it. It's very warm so we only use it in the winter. Think about what down really is and where it comes from. There's no need to support the industry.

For those that love their down alternative ones- any recommendations for a good brand?

Eddie Bauer - I paid alot and I'm getting another because no other down comforter measures up to it. I got the premium lightweight 10 years ago and it gets better every year. I have tried to cheap out with department stores and Ikea so I sent them to school with my kids and hope they don't come back! Next Eddie Bauer sale here I come!!

Geese are the most annoying animals ever. I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.

I second this. And I have expensive taste. The down comforter I bought is still gling strong.

The one I bought from company store fell apart in 2 months, it was terrible, all the feathers bunched into one part of the comforter and the loft definitely compressed. I could never get it back to normal.

Our current comforter is from Garnet Hill and is great!! We're on the second year and there has been no bunching or loss of fluffiness. I'm very happy.

Cuddledown!! Not inexpensive but absolutely heaven - lightweight and cozy. They offer in a variety of weights. We got mid-weight which has proved to work for most of the year. If anything we add an extra blanket on the coldest nights.
