making DC feel special when away at school

I miss my kids so I do something special to let them know they are special.

Specifically I remember my mom sending me: her special chocolate chocolate chip cookies, bags of my favorite jelly beans (pear flavored), socks for every holiday, my favorite chocolate eggs (Munson's) at Easter, and notes and once in a while old photos or things I'd done in grade school. Some times she'd toss in a VHS she thought I'd like or a book of crosswords since I love/d them.

My dad used to send my plain white envelopes with a folded note and $10 or $20 bucks, which meant a ton because my dad was not effusive in any way.
