Eating organically

90% of my food is organic, non-GMO. I absolutely believe it's better then eating pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, etc. There is a reason cancer has significantly increased in this country! It's not all genes.

I buy local first. I think the carbon footprint is smaller. But I get that this does not alleviate health concerns.

I am a stickler for organic milk--my daughter is a toddler and drinks a lot, and I don't like the hormones, etc. Ditto for beef, although we don't eat a lot at home, so I don't worry as much. I try to buy organic produce, but I'm not obsessive. I just think that reducing our use of pesticides is good for our health, the environment, and the farm workers.

FWIW, many small local producers are organic, they just don't have the certification.
