| Keep in mind that you are limiting your job options by becoming a political appointee. Heavy lobbying restrictions, plus now if you want a career attorney position, opm has to approve your hire. |
This is a jerky response. I see folks barely 5 years out of law school, no experience managing anything or even substantial campaign work, who jump from some junior or midlevel associate job to fairly substantial appointive positions. If this is a "pipeline" it's a strange one. |
There are no lobbying restrictions coming from the Administration, but I agree with a previous poster that there will be a bum rush at the end of the Administration for private sector jobs. I personally think it is too risky for both earners to be political appointees. OP, can you start to look for a new position so your DH has a chance? I don't blame him for wanting to jump from BigLaw. It's a miserable existence. |
Yeah, coz they were in the pipeline. How is that hard to understand? |
| If you're in the pipeline with that level of experience, I fear for our country. I mean, wunderkids qualified for that kind of jump at that age are NOT in government. Part of the problem. |
C'mon, what do you mean that a Yale Law degree and three years writing briefs at Big Law doesn't qualify someone to be a Deputy Assistant Secretary? |
You're just talking out of your ass and you sound jealous. |
