I got nothing left and I'm sure the Speced and mainstream teachers feel the same way

Well I feel the need to have a discussion . Hooray for just 3 more days (less really!) So sad to read that people are already dealing with dreaded camp calls. Boo!

I find the situation inexcusable. Whomever is doing the hiring, please find people who "get" these kids, find people who are not locked into a juvenile detention center mentality!

Both a shiny new grad and a vet with 20 years of experience is going to be tired when they get to the end of the school year. Everybody needs a break.

I'm a mom of two SN kids and I'm tired by June and ready for a change of scenery and R&R.

This is depressing. Isn't this kind of a "camp of last resort"?

I am so sorry to hear that! What specifically did they complain about? What was the background of the staff?

Ok, let's get real here, how many PhDs do you know who work as janitors or parking lot attendants? Both DH and I have PhDs in different fields and neither of our grad school friends work for peanuts.

I have read articles about Ph.Ds on food stamps, but I think they in fields where it is known the job market is poor like comparative lit and philosophy. I don't think people expected tenure to be an impossible dream in some fields however and many Ph.D.s in the humanities can only seem to get adjunct work.
