Benefits at a smaller company

I work for a company with fewer than 50 employees. I like the work but the benefits stink. Well, maybe they don't "stink" so much as they don't exist. My wife doesn't get benefits either, so we are thankful for the generosity of our friends, family and fellow Americans (we'd be bankrupt without the Affordable Care Act).
