| We just watched Ferris with our middle school son. He liked it, but it was a lot slower than we remembered!! |
I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. I am pro-choice. But the way this movie is so flippant about abortion bothers me to no end. On the other hand, it's a great slice of American life and is just overall a fun movie sans the abortion issue. The guy being a jerk and her being dumped didn't bother me. They could have just left out the whole pregnancy story line. |

My parents were so strict when I was a kid, but Ferris was one of the few teen movies I was alloed to see.
16 Candles, too. |

Op here. We watched it.
The kid laughed through the entire thing. It was as funny as I remember. I am fairly traditional with my parenting, and there was nothing that I cringed about in the entire movie. I definitely recommend it for anyone else looking for a movie to watch with your young teen. |
| I saw this when I was 6 in the theater. |

I let my kids watch "Sixteen Candles" when they were in Elementary school. I guess by 1997 it seemed kinda campy and silly to them.
They thought the "Long Duck Dong" guy was SO funny and every time his name was spoken they laughed at how that gong sound came on. And they roared at the part where the kid's parents are forcing him into the gym during the school dance and the kid is protesting and telling his parents, "Mom...Dad...I don't wanna go to the dance...I wanna be at home with you guys!!!" Hahahahaha!!!!!! LOL.

Seriously?? Please explain more. You've frightened me! |
