How to decide if I should go back on meds?

OP, please address these concerns with your doctor. There are medications he/she can prescribe that do not cause weight gain. Depression not only negatively impacts you, it impacts your entire family. As you know, you don't have to feel this way. Good luck.

OP again. Saw the psych today. She said that I should stay away from the SSRI family of meds and if I want to try another med then she would put me on Cymbalta. She doesn't recommend Wellbutrin for me because it's primarily an antidepressant, not anti anxiety.
I took a mental health day yesterday and got stuff done around the house and feel considerably less crabby today. My plan is to stay off meds for the summer and work on losing the weight and then reconsider meds if I'm still feeling irritable in late summer. Maybe the new Endo will have some answers as well. Thanks to everyone who responded.
