Wines for Spring

I'm digging sparkling things for the spring/summer. For a relative bargain I'm liking the Chandon Limited Edition Blanc de Noirs. They have it at Costco for around $16.

There's a white truck blend (sub $10 @ safeway) that is nice. A touch of fruit without that pucker that you can get from sauvignon blanc.

Thanks for that reminder. White truck and red truck are from Cline in Sonoma. They're awfully good for the price.

Also, thanks for the pinot gris reminder. I need to pick up something alsatian.

Skipjack by Liganore Vineyards (a MD winery). Its a great, light & refreshing white wine that goes with pretty much everything.

Cline Pinot Gris is great. I just tried Ménage a Trois rose and it's really refreshing.

I thought the Skipjack was a little sweet, but I just tried their pinot grigio, and it was great. And $10. They were selling it at the Bethesda Elementary farmers market a couple of weekends ago.

Just wanted to update that I found a fabulous white blend from South Africa yesterday. It's called Bloem and comes from the floral region. A blend of Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Viognier. It just might be my new go to wine this summer.

Barefoot crisp white. It's only 7 bucks and has a little fizz to it. It's good for summer.

Are you referring to the Pinot Grigio? It has some lime favors and is very refreshing on a hot summer day.

I'm not the PP who recommended it, but no, it is a separate "crisp white."
