What else looks like chicken pox?

Chicken Pox and Scarlet Fever rash usually develop on the trunk of the body.

It could be HFM or bug bites. If you are really worried you can take her to urgent care before the pediatrician is in the office on Tuesday.

My daughter was diagnosed Monday with chicken pox after having vaccinations. She is 2.5. Apparently kids some kids still get it even after the vaccine. It could be the chicken pox.

I'm guessing a pediatrician that says HFM is no big deal has never cared for a toddler who has it. It was awful for us for about five days. Poor DD couldn't sleep or eat and didn't want to drink......

Sounds miserable. How long did it take for your DD to show symptoms of illness besides the spots? My DD seems perfectly fine but has only had the spots for a couple days. Assuming this is what she has will she start acting ill in a few days?

This is 22:03, symptoms for us came a day or tow after we saw the first couple of spots. They get them in their mouth so it makes it painful for them even to swallow. They cant sleep properly and are just in pain a lot of the time, even with tylenol/ibuprofen. DD was very cranky, clingy and wanted to be held a lot. It was rough.

Not only is it rough taking care of a toddler who has it, it sucks if the parents get it too. DS was miserable and would barely eat/sleep for 48 hours. Then DH and I got it and had such awful sores in our throats, neither of us could eat for a week. So so terrible.

Where are you all hanging out that you got HFM so that I can avoid those places?
