Regrets after leaving dc metro

This is the PP that moved and never looked back. DCUM is a train wreck....I know I shouldn't visit but can't help it! it reminds me of why we left. So yes, I come back to DCUM for reinforcement that our decision was a sound one.

You guys are very entraining in case you didnt already know that!! kind of like watching monkeys at the zoo.

Really? Then why are you still on this forum?!?

NP. The area I'm moving to in a few months does not have a similar website to this, so I will be haunting the boards of DCUM for years to come, even though I don't much care for the area.

This makes no sense.

If you aren't bright, sure. The city I am moving to does not have an anonymous board with the enormous range of opinions that DCUM does. So even though I don't like DC, I will continue to use DCUM. Should I explain it a third time?

Yet another DC expat who does the same thing from her happy life in her new location. You guys are my Real Housewives of ---- entertainment.

Had a neighbor who sold her house and moved away... then needed to move back after real estate went crazy but couldn't afford a similar house anymore so was stuck in a TH. They regretted it.

DC is NOT the be-all, end-all of intellectualism, professional opportunities, and importance; nor is it the only place where highly-educated people from all over the World choose to live and discuss art, literature, politics, and international, national, and local affairs.

I used to feel that it was, and then I moved away for professional reasons, struggled for one year to let go of my biases, and now enjoy a wonderful and full life elsewhere. I would not hesitate to move away if you really want to pursue an attractive professional or personal opportunity somewhere else -- you will find your footing there also.

Another former DC person who left 4 years ago and has no desire to go back. The only thing I miss (aside from some friends) are my old running paths in Rock Creek Park and along the Potomac. Other than that, no regrets.

(And yes, like the other PPs, I stay on DCUM for edutainment.)

"You guys" - you do know you are one of the guys, right? I pity anyone who leaves here and comes back to this board. Does explain a lot though.
