With all due respect, you all are missing the POINT of Heidelberg: the bread.
Yes, they do nice pastries, nice cakes, all that. But you can get those at many high-end bakeries. What you can not get anywhere else: volkorn bread, 6-grain bread -- all baked to German recipe (do left in the oven a little shorter than in the Old Country because American like their bread a little softer) -- and with imported flour. Get the bread. You won't regret
