Q re sleep over party - 9 year old boys

Anonymous
Is it small enough to hide in his pillow case or in his sleeping bag? Just so he knows it's there.

I would suggest leaving it home so it doesn't get lost or damaged.

How about saying you can use that night for you to wash the lovey and let it dry?

as much as I find my kids' classmates annoying in some ways (i'm just not a kid person and find a lot of them annoying and spoiled), it does seem to me that in many ways the kids around here are nicer to each other than kids were in my generation. I don't know if it's the the general area, or the demographics of our school, or this part of the country, or just this generation. It seems to me that there is very little mean-spirited teasing going on with the elementary age. (I haven't really seen any! Am I just lucky?)
So yes, I think your son should make the call about bringing the stuffed animal. (fwiw, my 9 year old who always brings his little stuffed animal when we travel, did not want to bring it to a sleepover.)

Let your son decide. It's not your husband's decision, or yours.
