| i'd say dim sum. interesting to me that this is for a 7 year old's bday party ... at that age i can't believe your kid even wants a bday party in a restaurant - most kids that age that i know view eating a meal as a necessity, not an "experience." report back and let us know what you pick! |

Maybe La Tasca near Chinatown? I went to a baby shower at the one in Arlington a few years ago, and it was great. Interesting enough food but still accessible, and lots of variety.
Or straight up Chinese at one of the big places in Chinatown. Again, lots of options for everyone. |
I have never seen a kid in Masala Art, let alone 15. How about Korean BBQ? |
|
Please get take out and do a home party, use the food as a theme to play games from that country.
Kids that age don't want to sit down and eat they want to run and play. It just sounds very frustrating for you. For what it is worth, my oldest daughter is 10 and she and her friends are SICK of pizza. Her last party we hired Squells on Wheels and had a salad bar. |

OP has "convinced" DD to have her party at a restaurant like this.
Poor DD. |
| Benihana type place? |
|
I have always done pizza because that is the food that I know most kids like. I would be afraid to go too "outside the box", because some kids are picky eaters or have food allergies. Pizza is always safe, and I know the kids will eat it. I think when dd gets older and we only celebrate with a few close friends, then I will be able to change that.
One place that I hear kids talking about is Mobey Dicks. They seem to like that place. Great for take out, but I wouldn't have a birthday party there. |
| Hire a food truck to serve at the party. District Taco would probably satisfy everyone. And the kids would think it's cool. |
That would be cool. Seems like a waste for little kids, can parents come too! Or just have a taco bar at a home party. |
| Not ethnic, but the melting pot would be a different experience. |
I agree with this. Plus, no matter what you pick, I guarantee you that several of the kids will refuse to eat it and instead sit there with sour expressions on their face...the prospect of dealing with a group of sour hungry children at a restaurant is not appealing. |
