| Wow, I loved the Corrections. Hope this is not a spoiler-- stop reading if you haven't read it and intend to... but the way the lives flipped at the end between the brother who couldn't finish anything (including the corrections to his manuscript) and the supposedly successful brother. Coming from a dysfunctional family the dialogue was so realistic and at times so funny/sad, it was a very powerful read. |
| I just started this one too because of this thread (had it on my night stand forever and never got around to reading it). I wasn't expecting it to be so funny! I literally laughed out loud at least 4-5 times in the first two chapters. That is rare. I think he is the real deal. |
Thanks for the input Jonathan! Hope the fetish (you know what I mean) is under control. |
| I thought The Corrections was good. I haven't got all the way through Freedom yet. |
I loved it too. I look forward to reading it again. |
Agree 100%. He's just so mean about his Midwestern family. |
I assume you are no fan of Thomas Pynchon, too. |
This could have been me after the first few chapters, laughing out loud. Let's wait to see what she thinks after she's plowed through the middle and end. |
| NO. |
| Only read Freedom and mostly thought it suuuuuucked. |
