Mock sleep over for a severn yr old birthday party

My DD started going to slumber parties when she was 6 (and the birthday girl was turning 7). She is now 7.5 and she has been to around 5. It is a very popular birthday option at 7.

On the other hand, when she was in K she did attend something like you describe. And I also think she would not bat an eye if someone invited her to something like this now.

Why don't you just have a party during that time, but make no mention of pajamas or sleeping? Dinner, cupcake decorating, fingernail painting all sounds just fine. No need to add confusion by adding an element of sleep to it.
