Another vote for military by owner. Non-military use it as well.

OP, in my neighborhood, people market to the Norwegian embassy, as a specific preference.

Zillow
Redfin

Both have rental sections. As a renter, I avoided craigslist because of the scams (fake rentals, owners on vacation, etc)

I feel your pain. I get lookers for my unit, but no applications yet. Trying to avoid the realtor route as I'm tight on funds. It takes patience and I'm running low.

It seems inventory is high this season and the rental market is more sluggish than it has been over the past few years. Of course, this happens the year I try to convert my condo to a rental.

Rental market is definitely more sluggish. Three years ago, on the weekend that we listed our townhome for rent, 5 families showed up, and one had credit report, pay stub with them and signed the lease and made a deposit on the spot.

This year, the renter quality is much lower and it took us well over a month to find a tenant.

Make sure your ad and photos are good quality. This is really important.

We have great luck with listing our Georgetown rowhouse on craigslist.

We always get an overwhelming response by qualified, responsible tenants.

We always have it rented very quickly no matter the month. We've had it 10 years now, third tenant.
