I think that's the waitlist for this year. I don't believe KOC has a list that rolls over year to year like Overlee and Dominion Hills. We got on the pool wait lists when I was pregnant with our first and we're on track to get into a pool when our now second kid is in preschool. I have never tried to get into KoC, but I sign my kids up for Arlington county Saturday swim lessons 4 times a year and I am at my computer, poised to click at 7:30am. I'm guessing you have to do the same thing for the pool and treat it like you're trying to get Taylor Swift tickets. |
Indeed, that is also how I get into the Arlington country swim lessons. Apparently I was asleep at the wheel for KOC today. I will cross my fingers that our other waitlists come through in 8 years. Thanks! |
| If you guys are federal employees I just want to recommended Ft. Meyer pool. As far as I know there isn't a wait list, it is a pretty big complex. Three main pools and then a kiddie pool. Snack bar. They have fun events on holidays. |
Can you get in with a DHS badge? |
I believe pool membership is open to GS11 and above? But I am not 100% on that. DHS is homeland? Yes, that is fine. It is any federal ID at the appropriate GS level. |

KOC changed the way you register for the season this year.
They are offering families who used the pool in previous years first opportunity to register, then will pull families in from the waitlist. Registration for previous members just opened on Feb 1st. I suspect that many people from the waitlist will get in because many families may not renew (due to relocation or getting into other pools). The price for the non-member registration has stayed the same for the past 3 years. Anyway - we have used the pool (non-members) for the past 3 years and love it. We BBQ there a lot, we love that they have a food stand and bar. Our kids love it! It's a great option for those (like us) on waitlists. |
| If you don't end up at the knights you may want to look at Woodley Pool in Falls Church depending on where you live. There are a lot of Arlington families who go there while they wait to get off the wait list for their neighborhood pool. http://www.woodleypool.org |
