What number are you enrolling at? would you move?

^^ I wouldn't say that PP, there are a number of posters who said they would go with their higher ranked schools. The ones that say they wouldn't jump ship are the ones who got into their #2.

No, I've had a month to think about my son being at his matched school and to become excited about it. I would jump for my #2 choice, but NOT my #1 or #3 or #4. Of tehe outside lotteries, I would jump for just two of the four I applied to.

I don't think there will be much shuffling on the common lottery list for this reason.

We're at ITS, our #3. Would move to #2 MV for language. May not move to #1, 2 Rivers. I think the ITS education will be just as good as 2Rivers and the facility/outdoor space is better at ITS.

Congrats! You win the lottery and the grammar jerk contest!

We got into our #6 choice for PK3. It is our IB school. And I am warming up to it a lot. We have 2 decent waitlist numbers in our 1-5 choices, but decided there is only 1 we will move for, and even that I am debating. Also CM is not out of the question given our WL number. I feel like I couldn't turn it down, but I sort of hope I am not faced with that decision. The location of CM, while not terrible for us, is not great.

1014 here, Also, we ranked MV high, now with no chance of getting in given our WL number, but the more I think about that commute, the more I think it is a blessing in disguise. Unless you live right there, I think that is going to be one painful commute.

Because even if you would move to a higher ranked school, if there is no chance that it would be offered to you, then this exercise is meaningless.

Maybe you only value "helpful" threads, but I'm really fascinated to see how various families are working through any sense of disappointment, whether through coming to love what they've been offered or to hold out hope for something else.

Enrolled at #2. Think we will stay here even if #1 comes through.

We got into our #1 and we are moving. We rent now so it's not as big of a deal. Now we are deciding whether to continue renting or buy close to the school.

MV? We have a low number in the waitlist and are prayerful it works out for us....if so consider Bloomingdale or Edgewood which are close and becoming more so daily. wouldn't it be nice to walk to a great school in the neighborhood? If I'm wrong then i hope walk-ability works out for you at your actual choice....sorry... I am thinking of how nice that would be for us and extrapolating out to you.

We are matched at #9 and at Stokes -- both terrible commutes. Have mediocre numbers at 1-8 and would move for Marie Reed (#12), DC Bilingual (#52), Bancroft (#42), and some of the other common lottery / separate lottery charters, but our numbers for those are so low that we have zero chance. I wish we could trade Stokes for one of the above three!

Lucky you! We live two blocks from the new location and got nowhere in the lottery.

With #12 you'll get in to Marie Reed. It may not be until late in the summer or until after school starts, but you'll get in.
