What Did I Do Wrong?

Anonymous
I work out every day, twice if I don't have my daughter. (Yoga plus a run or some lifting.) A few days ago, I weighed 150.6 and today I weighed 152.2, despite the 5 or 6 workouts in between. Fluctuations like that are completely normal.

Being this obsessed about less than a pound is a pretty good way to end up in an eating-disordered place. Weigh yourself once a week on the same day and time and don't put too much emphasis on the number if you feel good and look good. I weighed 140 before my daughter and 150 now and I'm actually in better shape and run faster now. (and I'm old.) weight doesn't have to mean much.

You may be retaining more water since you just started working out.

Also, make sure you aren't eating more. Honestly, I think elliptical is a pretty weak exercise. You'd be better off jogging/running or even walking on a treadmill at a decent pace at a good incline. Ellipticals are notorious for overestimating how many calories you burned.

Just keep at it, don't get discouraged and may sure your diet is in order. The weight will then come off. I promise.
