I've never had a problem. Try a bigger size, different cut or brand.

Some online stores have sizing that breaks down waist size (which I ignore usually because I know my size) but I was buying a pair of pants today and took notice since I had read this earlier. A 33" inch waist would be a size 14 or 16 women's, depending on how they run.
