One from Brooklyn, one from the Bronx. Class was more fluid back then. My grandparents were immigrants/second generation. One GF was a high school prinicipal, the other was a tailor. GGPs all lived on the Lower East Side. My parents grew up to be well educated but went to poor public schools.

The typical "New York Accent" is limited to certain areas of Brooklyn.

New Yawker here. People from Manhattan have no accent, people from the other boroughs do. It's really that simple.

I think Joan would be like a friend of mine who grew up in Queens and worked to lose her accent. She can turn her Queens accent back on, when she wants to.

LOL! The reason we haven't gone to the moon in 40 years is because there is nothing the fuck up there! Why would we waste money and possibly lives to go back to the moon???
