WE grew up with a weeping cherry in our front yard. In the spring, the branches would droop down and create sort of a tent/tunnel through which we could ride our bikes and big wheels on the walkway. I have such fond memories of that weeping cherry tree!

What are the trees called that currently have the purple flowers? Are those Jacarandas? I think they look a little different from OP's picture but maybe that picture is just an awesome one.

Which of the ones mentioned so far is the smallest, with shallow noninvasive- roots, does anyone know?
