If your HHI is c.400k how much is your mortgage

Have you owned a house before? It is nice(if you can) to have money to furnish the place(like pay a decorator), pay taxes, something alway breaks or needs fixing, and maybe landscaping. So it is better nt being house poor.

We own a house overseas.

I have a base income of $400. Bonuses can push it to double that, but they could also be $0, so we live on the $400 assumption. I have a $5000 mortgage and it's very comfortable. Could make it less by putting more equity in, but I like the leverage as it allows me more cash on hand for other needs/investments.

HHI: $600k. 2 houses. Primary is $2.25M with a 15 year $1.1M mortgage. Vacation is $420k with a 15 year that has about $125k left (should really just pay that off).

Our HHI is 400k. We bought at 1M, put 300k down. Mortgage is 4800 per month (PITI). We pay private school tuition for one plus the usual household expenses and we have plenty left over each month.

You should be looking at the $1.5-1.75M range with at least 25% down.

Where's your vacation property?

We make between 400-500 depending on bonus. We bought a 1.5 million house but put 750k down. Our payment is around 4500/month. I wish it were more like $3500 but we are comfortable, happy, and love the house. I would not feel comfortable buying a 2.5 million house unless I made closer to 1 million a tear, but that is just me . . .
