Crib and newborn

OP here. We have 1-bedroom condo, so the baby's crib is in our bedroom anyway. I am not planning ot use bumpers at list in the beginning. i guess it does not look picture-nice - a small baby wrapped in a swaddle blanket and in a large (for the baby';s size) crib, being flat and without any bumpers, blankets, pillows When they advertise cribs, the cribs are always full of stuff

Sounds good to me! They suggest that if you do use bumpers you don't use them past a certain number of months. (I forget when.) The idea is that after that point they can use them to climb out of the crib. Maybe bumpers are really just a marketing gimmick by Pottery Barn Kids!

Before DD was born, we bought a beautiful Bellini crib and 2 Pack-and-Plays (for various rooms)...And we ended up co-sleeping (she is 3 months old now)!

I believe they'd show pics of gold bullion in cribs if they thought you'd buy it!

You can buy pretty sheets and a crib skirt if you want to "dress it up." Many of the PP's safety suggestions were for the sole purpose of having the baby in the same room as you. If the crib will be in your room anyway, then you are covered in terms of the recommendations.
