Going away to college but taking a very light load or part time?

She's really going to be on her own at a large state school. I'm assuming she's not interested in something smaller (a liberal arts college maybe?).

18:31 & 19:15 here again ~ DD and DS went 6+hrs away to large oos publics. Certainly everyone has their own preference, but thought I'd mention it worked well for them.

My son is doing 12 credits. He has high EQ and is very independent, so no reason not to go away. I think he has handled the transition better than the kids trying to take an overloaded schedule and trying to get straight As. Those friends are way more stressed.

Of course, at many schools 12 credits/4 classes is considered a full load and will keep you on track to graduate in 4 years. Other schools require a heavier load in order to graduate on time.
