I think you have a good shot, good luck! It's a great school. |
|
Agree that you likely have a very good shot with a very low waitlist number.
I do expect, however, that there may not be as much movement in the PS3 waitlist this year as in the previous 2 years because there are definitely more siblings in PS 3 starting next year than there were in past years... As always, of course, we're all simply making educated guesses at this stage.... |
| Any movement on pk4? Also in the single digits on the waitlist and wondering if/when we may get a call. |
| I have a lottery number at CM for PK3 in the very low 10's. I figure we have a pretty good shot, but a lot is riding on it -- we're planning to move to DC from out-of-state and missed the Round 1 lottery.... If they got into the 50's last year for PK3, how could they not get into the low 10's, especially with CM not being part of the Common Lottery. I just don't see how it could change so much from one year. I heard they had 15 or sibs for the 34 slots, which still leaves 19 openings.... |
| The school is increasingly popular. But the list will move a bit with some kids getting preferable spots through the general lottery and others finding the commute to the new location unworkable. |
|
Today is the last day for new families to accept their spot.
|
How are you going to prove residency in the turn around time you will have to accept the spot (often as the waitlists move, it is one week or even as little as 24 hours)? Or are you moving now? |
We were |
We were told we only needed to prove residency by the first day of school..... |
| You have to prove residency when you register. |
| CM told me they expect the accepted families to accept. How can they know this? How can they know already that WL will not move much? I don't understand. |
| Maybe everyone already accepted their spot so it is just a matter of whether people decide to do something different and withdrawal? |
| I was at the school today and there were many families turning in forms. The woman at the front desk said that they had received them back from everyone. |
|
Today is, in fact, the deadline to return the forms. I don't think the school having received forms back from everyone today is actually an indicator that there will be no movement of the waitlist between now and August.
There are likely at least a few folks who are responding yes today b/c it's the deadline, but are still mulling over any other options they may have in the common lottery where decisions aren't due until May 1. I'd bet there will be a bit of movement in May when the common lottery shakes out. |
