Centreville...thoughts?

Having lived here for more than 15 years I can honestly say I hate Centreville. The person who lives at the corner of Braddock and Stone and has never seen a gangbanger obviously is not looking because the largest concentration of gangbangers comes from the Londontowne projects about 4 blocks away. There is a lot of crime, just check out any issue of Centreview (weekly local paper). Any issue will detail crimes of burglary, rape, vandalism, drugs Etc. The traffic is terrible and most drivers are self consumed, unpredictable and reckless. It is very close to Manassas which carries a rather sordid reputation itself. There are a lot of townhome communities as opposed to single family homes and it seems they have jammed these homes so close together, there are no longer any parks, bike trails or wooded areas that once made this town beautiful. I would not want to raise a child here but other parts of Fairfax and Loudon counties are much nicer and just better areas in general to raise children. I aim to sell when the property value rises again, vowing to never return. Good Luck!
