I took my 4 and 1 yr old here by myself. It doesn't look promising---it IS HEAVEN. Here's a quick run down---the hotel facilities are about a 3 star--what you'd expect to find at a low end Holiday Inn. The food is okay but plentiful. There is a nice variety and you'll never be hungry. The bar makes decent drinks. The beach is tiny but perfect for little kids. They have lots of sand toys there for them to play with. There is a small kids club with indoor toys a little tikes type playground outside. But the true benefit is the Nanny. First off....you get a nanny with your room. But for about $20/day, you can hire a second nanny if you have multiple children. Now each child can do whatever they want at the resort within their age group. The nanny starts around 9am after breakfast and stays with you until 4:30 or so. They do take a break for lunch. But if you have multiple nannies, you can stagger lunch breaks. At 4:30 they are off for the day. But this is their bread and butter. They will ask you if you want them to watch the kids for the evening as well. For this you pay about $5/hr directly to the nanny. They will watch the kids from about 5:30 until you whatever time---they will bathe and put your kid to sleep if you want. If you have multiple nannies, one can watch both kids. Or you can keep both and again the kids can do their own thing. This is especially great if one goes to bed before the other. This is not the Ritz. It's not Beaches. But it's fairly inexpensive--they often run single parent specials. The nannies are fantastic. Oh--and if you want, they will send a car and the nannies to meet you at the airport to help you once you've cleared customs. |
| Single mom here. I took my daughter on a cruise when she was about 7. The intention was a vacation for the "family". I let her go to the kids club the first day and she absolutely loved it so much that she wanted to go everyday and stay the entire time she was allowed. I didn't bring another adult with me and the result was that I was very lonely. I was looking forward to spending that time with her. Afterwards when we would go on vaca, I told her that the kids club stuff will only be for a short time and we will spend the vaca together. She is now a teen and it's not an issue. |
