And his wife is pregnant. I think he will accept the position, but I know he was trying to decide family logistics - a nice comfy journalist/medical career + moving the family/kids/pregnant wife from Atlanta to the crazy world of politics here in the nation's capital. |
At least it wasn't another former Clinton administration person.
AND at least it wasn't Dr. Oz (Oprah's buddy) |
Maybe he is negotiating to get rid of the military style uniform for the surgeon "general". I have always thought that would be a deal breaker. |
Not negotiable. The Surgeon General is a member of the Commissioned Corps. of the Public Health Service. They all are required to wear uniforms and I just can't imagine an exception being made for him. |
I'm for the nomination. If we're going to have someone trotting out medical advice for the nation, might as well be a well-spoken, witty journalist/doctor. And I think he's smokin' hot.
BTW, He had a little experience with gov't as he was a white house fellow. |
That sounds familiar to me too. Wasn't Gupta an advisor to Hillary during Clinton's presidency (hence, her whole inspiration for her health care stance...at the time)? |
