OP,
Have you called your pediatrician? If it's not a stomach bug, I'd also get him a strep test. The vomiting concerns me at night b/c you wouldn't want him to choke if he's laying on his back. Reflux and pnd may affect vomiting but not necessarily the diarrhea. Maybe he's not celiac, but maybe it's irritable bowel? If he's had constipation issues, I'd try to have him sit for no longer than 5 minutes on the potty to help stimulate the elimination reflex. GL |
Those things normally do hit in the middle of the night for some reason. But it would be unusual for it to hit one night, then go away, then hit again the next night. That to me is a different sort of pattern.. |
| My brother had these issues when he was young. We would find him asleep in his vomit in the morning. It was managed by not feeding him anything heavy after 6:00 and no food after 7:30. He's fine now that he's an adult. |

It could very well be the onset of epilepsy.

Grr, sorry about the post I didn't finish!!
My 13 month old has vomited in his bed at night 5 out of the last 10 days, plus diarrhea during the day some days and once during the night. Really awful stomach bug. I had it too, but it only last about 4-5 days for me. I'd give it a week and see if your DS is doing better then (pediatrician told us to not even come back unless the vomiting/diarrhea persisted for 2 weeks -wtf). |
I'm the one who said "test, please." We also have genuine diagnosed via colonoscopy celiac in the family, and everybody's lives would have been a lot easier if it had been diagnosed earlier. It's annoying that people treat it if you're being trendy when yes, it will destroy my intestines if I eat gluten. |
BUt the OP says her child is fine doing the day as if nothing ever happened at night. If it was diet related than there would be vomit/diar. during the day too as well as stomach discomfort, but OP doesn't say that is the case. |
