Finally dry at night at age 8 - how would you mark this for an older child?

Wow that's weird...my 3 yo made the same accomplishment. Maybe take him to a restaurant and tell all the servers why you are celebrating? In all seriousness, this post is creepy.

It really isn't that weird. Most kids have this happen younger, but a small percentage don't gain the control until later.

No celebration, but I would mark it with the purchase of a new mattress pad.

Holy crap. My guys stopped at 2.5--dry pull-ups.

This does call for something big or maybe make it normal. Since making an issue out if something that is about 4 years past normal might freak him out and call more attention to it. This could stress him out.

I highly recommend the alarm we used. It's really small and comfortable and we could still use it with a pullup. We had tried others but this one was the best:

My 2 boys used this one, http://bedwettingstore.com/malem-ultimate-bedwetting-alarm.html

My kids didn't complain about discomfort while using it, but if that's a concern the pp quoted linked to what might be a better option of that's a concern.

I think a high-five would be appropriate. But that's about it.

I can't tell if you are obtuse or whether you were deliberately trying to be mean?
