Adderall is an amphetamine. You don't take it before bed unless you are cramming for finals. You also don't take stimulants for PTSD. Are you certain he has ADHD? People with ADHD aren't generally energized by stimulants. They get calm and more focused.

I agree with the PP who suggested directing him to a closet that needs cleaning.

My DH has PTSD and has been prescribed for Adderall and about 4 hours ago he took his first pill-He is so active and cant go to sleep right now.
Is this a good thing?

My DIL was on Adderall and gave me one when I went to her jewelry party. I ended up spending the night.

I washed all the dirty clothes, all the dirty dishes, cleaned the whole kitchen plus inside the refrigerator, cleaned the bathroom, mopped the floors, went outside at night and swept the carport plus walkway.Then I wiped down every door and window, made sausage biscuits from scratch. While they slept !

LOL. The next day I crashed and never took that again but damn I felt good ! Yes, it is speed. Good speed.

I take adderall every day for complications from Multiple Sclerosis. Your DH should only take it in the morning. I am on a lower dose and don't get any of that insane energy/concentration. It just brings me to what healthy people would consider normal. I can actually still nap on it...stupid disease.
