NW DC Private School Carpools or Transportation Services

Anonymous
Depending on how close you live to Wilson bridge, another option would be to see if there is a carpool and/or bus service from old town? I went to a private when growing up & there were always a few kids from PG county on the old town bus. Good luck!

DC was also admitted to an independent in the same locale and we have been able to connect with other families in northern PG county and are working on the carpool particulars. As a graduate of an independent school in Bethesda while living in Fort Washington-the commute never bothered me and my parents were always extremely eager to ensure that I was active and involved.

Understood. I've been having to do the same song and dance all around the site as I'm sure we are probably THE only admit to our grade at our school from PG this year.

You might be surprised. We thought this would be the case for our DD at her school a couple of years back. Turned out there were 4 other PG County kids in her grade. It depends a lot on which school I'm sure, but a lot of PG families make the drive to a lot of the private schools in NW DC, MoCo, and even Virginia. Could you ask the AD what the rough percentage is of PG County kids at your school is currently? It would give you a good sense of how likely it is you will be able to put together a carpool.

We did attend new student admit day and there's one other student from PG that will be in her grade (already attending)....we will be able to try and carpool, but I am still looking into transportation services-so if anyone is still interested, New Life will start a transportation service to upper NW with 4 students that are all arriving to the same general area. So if you are interested (from Bowie/Upper Marlboro/Mitchellville etc. areas) to go to upper Northwest please post here so we can connect.
