| Not yappy, but corgis do shed A LOT. |
| As a horse person I know a lot of corgis. They are great dogs. I see no reason NOT to get a corgi if you've always wanted one. |
My brother's family has a Corgi. Got him when their middle child was a baby and the two of them are incredibly bonded. Sweet, gentle dog. Never had a problem with nipping or barking. (My brother trained the dog not to bark by putting coins in an empty soda can and shaking it whenever the dog barked. Dog hated the sound and learned quickly!) |

Op here -- thanks all. I trained my GSD and although he was my first dog (grew up with a cat), he was no picnic to train but it was so worth it and I love the breed, but like I said, we can't really handle another huge dog. He sheds a ton but I vacuum often (small house) so I don't really mind. We had a ton of hair when we fostered a second GSD anyway, I'm used to being covered in dog hair on the regular..
With good training, I think a corgi sounds great since no one has brought up any huge red flags. |
