Braces off

Anonymous
OP I had the exact same thing feeling when the braces came off DD and DS. DD's shifted to a more natural looking bite over time. DS's shifted slightly and looks better. I looked other kids from the same ortho and I think that his signature look. Not crazy about it -- looks better on some kids than others. I would suggest having a private meeting with the ortho, ours was able to do a little shifting with the retainer.

Does your daughter like how she looks?

Why not take her to another ortho to see if they agree with what the first one has done? Or call another ortho and discuss your concerns, without telling DD, and ask if they'd be willing to take a look or what they'd advise?

I'd imagine she loves her daughter but does not love the results of $6000 dollars worth of orthodontics. I'd be pissed if I spent a bunch of money and made my kid go through the pain of braces and the teeth didn't even look right at the end.

And I'll add that as a kid I'd have been pissed about it, too. Having braces sucks. Your teeth should at least look good when you're done.
