If they want us they got to pay! Yes... and we got a phone call, not waiting for the mail.

What do you bring to the table? As someone formerly involved in private education (18 years), the only times I saw FA offered to relatively high earners was when the student/family brought something unique or desirable to the school body ... be it athletics, significant artistic talent (as in already winning awards), ethnic diversity, or affiliation to another strategically important institution.

Can you explain please? We have a much (MUCH) lower HHI and I'm wondering if it's worth trying to get financial aid for privates. I'm confident that my kid is a strong candidate if there is actually anything merit based available.

Truthfully I was being a little flippant but I don't know what we bring. I have another friend in the same situation and we often ask each other, why? We can only guess. We both did public k through 5th, went private for middle and were just going to do private for middle which are just bad years. Then we were going to go back to public in HS but we got FA and we felt really a large part of the community so we stayed. One is an athlete but we got FA before that was apparent and this is not a big athletic school so I really just don't know.

But it is partial FA so we are still paying a good chunk of money.

Is the HHI two incomes or one? How much do the privates cost?
